As long as our customers grow into different markets, their testing needs continuously change. At HABCO, we engineer for sustainability, building support, scalability and calibration into every stand we make.
When one of our clients matured beyond flow comparator type testing, they needed a turnkey solution that could be integrated with their entire manufacturing process. HABCO’s sonic nozzle test stand provided a complete solution. This not only met its testing requirements, but also succeeded in integrating the new equipment into its new manufacturing facility, by utilizing HABCO’s skills to layout the facility space, specify the compressor size and route piping.

Quality engineering can scale quickly. As our clients grow, their testing requirements extend across multiple sites and multiple benches. HABCO not only designs for that growth, we expect it.
One of our client's airflow testing spanned 14 benches, each of which required the same level of precision and accuracy. In addition to providing the right airflow bench, HABCO collaborated with their engineers to configure a centralized database to store all the necessary test procedures and statistical data. Regardless of which bench our client uses to test their parts, test data is stored centrally, backed up and secured. End-to-end airflow solutions like these minimize liabilities that can result from scattered data sets and provide the flexibility needed to increase throughput. Our latest software package today offers SPC (statistical process control) analysis tools which provide instant feedback if a process is out of control. HABCO also offers our bar coding technology which eliminates operator data entry errors in part testing.

If every laser drilled part looked exactly the same, there would be a lot of options for airflow test stands. At HABCO, our clients’ parts are constantly evolving in size and shape. To provide long-term airflow solutions, HABCO designs start at the test stand and extend all the way through the fixturing.
When one of our clients needed a cost effective method to begin testing components in house. The solution wasn’t to build a bigger test stand, but to design the right fixture. Utilizing modern design and manufacturing methods, HABCO assisted the customer with reworking existing designs to provide testing solutions that were less expensive to manufacture while maintaining a short delivery schedule.

How well a test stand meshes with a manufacturing process can be as important as the test stand itself. HABCO stands are designed for integration, from basic requirements to detailed lean cell configurations.
To maintain optimal production rates, one of our clients needed a single flow stand to service multiple different production cells. HABCO’s engineers developed the AF1000M, a portable testing solution that can be brought directly to a production cell, eliminating a monument operation. Utilizing the AF1000M’s multiple flow paths, our customr was able to greatly reduce tooling set up times and re-verification, increasing production throughput. The days of production cells waiting for monument operations are gone.

Standard features include:
The HABCO Model AF1000 is a fully automated test stand for measuring airflow through cooling passages in turbine engine blades and vanes. Sonic nozzles (Critical Flow Ventures) calibrated to 0.25% accuracy are used for flow reference standards. These nozzles, coupled with precision digital pressure and temperature transducers produce an extremely accurate and stable flow measurement system.

The HABCO Model AF1000FN is a fully automated Airflow Test Stand for measuring gas path testing of fuel nozzles and other high flow components. The test stand is similar to our AF1000 with the flow path increased to accommodate larger nozzles.
Sonic nozzles (Critical Flow Ventures) calibrated to 0.25% accuracy are used for flow reference standards. These nozzles, coupled with precision digital pressure and temperature transducers produce an extremely accurate and stable flow measurement system.
Standard features include:
Optional Features:

The HABCO Model AF1000T is a semi-automated Tabletop Airflow Test Stand for measuring airflow through cooling passages in turbine engine blades and vanes. Sonic nozzles (Critical Flow Ventures) calibrated to 0.5% accuracy are used for flow reference standards.
The AF1000T features the same accuracy and flow range of the larger model in a very cost effective tabletop enclosure. Calculations are performed on an external computer system via a USB interface.
Features include:
Optional feature:

The HABCO Model AF1000M fully automated Test Stand for measuring airflow through cooling passages in liners, segments, blades and vanes. This model is well suited for a work cell environment with a small space saving footprint.
The AF1000M features an integral plenum closely coupled to the sonic nozzles to minimize downstream air volume. This combination reduces settling time to a minimum, maximizing production throughput.
A maximum of four nozzles can be installed up to 0.125" for a maximum flow rate of 0.05 PPS. The installed nozzles can be operated alone or in parallel combination.
Standard features include:
Optional Features:

HABCO designs and manufacture custom airflow fixtures required for use with our AF1000 Series Test Stands.
Our team of engineers and skilled machinist can work with existing designs and requirements to manufacture component fixtures. We can supply tooling for all sizes and shapes of components from blades and vanes to cumbustor rings and burner cans.

The HABCO Model AF1000V is automated Vacuum Airflow Test Stand for measuring airflow in combustion chamber liners and cans. The AF1000V uses the same flow measurement technology as our other models to reverse flow components using vacuum.
Vacuum flow is typically used to simplify test fixture design where it is difficult or impossible to flow the required feature using positive pressure. By using vacuum, proper airflow direction and pressure ratio is maintained.
Standard features include:

Standard features include:
The HABCO Model AF1000HFM is a fully automated test stand for measuring Effective Area cooling flow through combustor liners and swirlers. Sonic nozzles (Critical Flow Ventures) calibrated to 0.25% accuracy are used for flow reference standards. These nozzles, coupled with precision digital pressure and temperature transducers produce an extremely accurate and stable flow measurement system.
