The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) in cooperation with Laser Institute of America (LIA) held its 5th Symposium for Advanced Laser Applications (SALA). While this conference originally focused on laser drilling for aerospace applications, it now examines a wide range of laser processes being used by manufacturers for aerospace applications. SALA 2009 hosted over 139 participants from North America and Europe listening to presentations ranging from percussion laser hole drilling by OEM's to laser based paint removal for Air Force hardware.

HABCO launched the new AF1000 family at this year's conference and the state of the art HABCO's AF1000M was on display at CCAT's Laser Lab.
